Sophie’s shoes
It’s getting colder in Lalaland so we put on her first pair of shoes yesterday (thanks to Oma Marion) for a brunch date in Santa Monica with the Shepherds.

It’s been a little while since I blogged, so here we go……
For having floated peacefully in water for 9 months, Sophia sure doesn’t like it now. Brad and I have tried every which way to make baths more pleasant for her (bubbles, no bubbles, warm room, not so warm room, different water temperatures, one of us, both of us, etc.) but she continues to cry throughout the entire bath, not calming down until she’s safely out of the bathroom and offered a warm bottle of formula.
We’re also teaching her the importance of not being a fair-weather fan, so even after losing to North Carolina last weekend, Sophie proudly sported her Wildcat onesie (thanks to Chandra).
On a more serious note though, this week was filled with a very important decision…we choose a babysitter who will watch Sophie on the 2 days that Brad teaches at USC and also provide him some quiet time to continue his writing. Her name is Julie and she’ll start with us in the new year.
As for her current developments, Sophie continues to “talk” pretty regularly, especially while standing. She’s also started to recognize our voices from a distance and usually greets us with a smile. She’s becoming a great napper, doesn’t mind having lotion put on anymore, and even seems to have started laughing out loud.
